How to care for your GaelMade tote bag
Follow these simple steps to keep your tote bag looking fresh and lasting longer
Understanding pilling
Pilling is the formation of small fabric balls on the surface of your tote bag. This is a natural occurrence with natural fabrics and happens when loose fibres tangle together through regular use and friction with other materials. This completely normal.
Remove bobbles and fibres
Use a fabric shaver or pilling remover tool to gently remove bobbles from the surface. Work in small circular motions and avoid pressing too hard to prevent damage to the fabric.
Washing instructions
Where possible, wipe down with a damp cloth to clean. If you must machine wash, do a 20 to 30 degree cold wash with similar colours on a short cycle (15 to 30 minutes). Turn inside out before washing to protect the print. Use a gentle cycle and avoid harsh detergents. Air dry flat or hang to dry.
Storage tips
Store your tote bag in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid overstuffing to maintain its shape. Do not store in direct sunlight in order to prevent fading of colours and prints.
